The rumours are true! The Little Red Company’s breakout smash hit production, Rumour Has It, returns for an epic one-night-only performance at QPAC’s Concert Hall on Thursday 17 June 2021.
Naomi Price reprises her career-defining role, channelling the songs and soul of Adele as she performs the acclaimed UK artist’s biggest hits in the biggest production of the critically acclaimed show to date.
Brisbane’s first lady of song will be joined on stage by special guest vocalists Rachel Everett-Jones (The IsoLate Late Show, Wrecking Ball), Luke Kennedy (Your Song, Christmas Actually) and Lai Utovou (The IsoLate Late Show, All Together Now), each delivering a powerhouse performance.
They will be backed by Little Red’s talented live band including Jason McGregor (guitar), Mik Easterman (drums), Michael Manikus (keys) and OJ Newcomb (bass) as well as Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.
The bold and unashamedly brash performance marks Little Red’s QPAC debut and the first time Rumour Has It will play to Brisbane audiences since January 2017.
The captivating show charts the incredible rise of the working class diva with all the upfront British wit and heart-stopping tunes that made Adele the highest-selling recording artist of the 21st Century.
Price brings Adele’s deliciously frank life story to the stage as she performs her most recognisable hits including Rumour Has It, Rolling in the Deep, Hello, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), Skyfall and Someone Like You.
“Just like the queen of reinvention herself, Rumour Has It has undergone an incredible transformation and our new production will be unlike anything Brisbane audiences have seen before,” Price said.
“We are adding new songs from her three albums, approaching some of her biggest hits with fresh ears and ideas and harnessing the magnificent voices and incredible musicianship of the Little Red team to fill the Concert Hall with sound and might.
“I can also retire Adele’s padded suit which I’m not devastated about.”
Rumour Has It debuted as a work-in-development at Brisbane Cabaret Festival in 2012 before making its mainstage premiere at the Judith Wright Centre.
It returned for several encore Brisbane seasons at the Judith Wright Arts Centre, Queensland Theatre and Brisbane Powerhouse before making its international debut in Malaysia in 2016, undertaking a national tour in 2017 and playing acclaimed seasons at Sydney Opera House, Hamer Hall and Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Rumour Has It was co-created by Naomi Price and Adam Brunes and spawned Little Red’s collection of modern songbook adaptations including Wrecking Ball, Lady Beatle, Christmas Actually, From Johnny to Jack, There’s Something About Music and Your Song.
