I took my 7, 5 and 3-year-olds to this show, and it’s safe to say that we all LOVED it!

The Trash Test Dummies were hilarious and had all of us totally engaged.

We loved how interactive it was – with the performance coming into the crowd, and “that” surprise halfway through the show.

No spoilers guys – but it’s great!

Had me involuntarily shouting “wow”! as my kids raced to the stage to engage with this new part of the performance!.

My kids have been talking about this constantly since we saw the show and I’m sure it will stick with them for a long time to come!

Trash Test Dummies is a playful blend of dance, circus, comedy, drama and audience interaction… a wonderful concoction of music, dance, imagination and humour.

This interactive performance kept audiences engaged in the action, bopping along to the music and smiles on their faces as the show ended with a massive splash of colour… where participation was highly encouraged and a whole lot of fun!

The high energy of Test Dummies, Amy Nightingale-Olsen, Thomas McDonald, Leigh Rhodes, kept all ages captivated and the acro-yoga style acrobatics in the show was a crowd-pleasing spectacle.

“It was so funny, their dancing was wow! They built towers from humans, it was so cool! Can’t believe he had a harmonica in his mouth, how did he get it in his mouth?” Hazel (5yrs old)

It is a memorable performance of 3 people, 3 wheelie bins, a dance-off, a juggling act, a funeral, a game of hide-and-seek and even a little skating.

Definitely a must-see for some fun, engaging, lighthearted entertainment!

At first, I wasn’t sure where the performance was headed with the rubbish bin props.

However, once the acrobatics and juggling started I really got immersed into the performance.

I particularly enjoyed the performers’ interaction with the kids who loved the coloured balls segment.

It was great to see the kids responding to the performers, laughing at old ‘slapstick’ hits and bumps.

Hats off to a hard-working trio who sweated their way through a full-on hour of laughter and entertainment.

Who would have thought three wheelie bins and their drivers could be so hilarious?

Energy unlimited, showcasing mime, juggling, roller skates, Taiko-drumming, great music and lots of balls. My two three-year-olds were in hysterics at the exaggerated facial expressions and cheeky characters that had mastered trickery, slow-motion action and hiding from each other.

Likewise, I was thoroughly entertained by the fast pace, skilful talent and brilliant choices of montaged music.

Ballet with the bins and Chariots of Fire renditions were particularly memorable.

Trash Test Dummies touched on important themes of happiness, sharing, anger, love, war and death, with incredible sensitivity.

They used clever language, sounds and changes in lighting to deliver an exceptional experience that the whole audience seemed very happy to be part of.

This was a very clever, entertaining show for all ages.

A combination of slapstick comedy, acrobatics and audience interaction

The trio of actors required few words to convey their message, which suited the average age of the audience.

Reminiscent of The Three Stooges, they expressed all emotions in a way that kept me smiling.

Just when you may have thought they would coast through a middle stanza, they continually brought the audience into the show with playful interaction and worked to ensure everyone remained a child at heart.

Finally, when you were convinced they were a one-trick pony of slapstick comedy, they bring in acrobatic feats that replaced laughter with awe.

They were worthy of my genuine laughs, attention and applause.

I have to admit, I do love a good secret indulgence in a piece of theatre made for kids.

It doesn’t involve much thought, it’s easy viewing and an easy laugh.

I must say Trash Test Dummies met my criteria for a good kiddies show!

The set was simple: 3 actors, 3 bins and a few bags of trash.

Minimalistic yet so effective, as the actors were phenomenal.

All three were filled with energy and sheer talent.

Character execution was on point!

All three characters didn’t have dialogue but pulled off very alternate characters from each other; with well-executed silly little gibberish lines, use of body language and movement.

Shout out to anyone who can rollerblade on a small stage!

The main highlights for me were the use of clowning techniques and circus skills, something that really is a dying art these days.

Also the audience interaction; the kids were in utter delight as the actors scrambled over chairs and threw colourful balls out into the audience.

However, a few missed points with me is the certain misuse of props.

One actor put a harmonica in their mouth and a plastic bag over their head, which I’d hate for a child to mimic.

Finally, the show started off a little slow, but picked up and I’m so glad it did!

It’s now one of my faves!!

Trash Test Dummies is a great, action-packed and funny show.

We laughed a lot.

There were jokes for kids and jokes for parents.

There is something for everyone…dancing, singing, juggling and acrobatics.

The show is about three trash collectors trying to do their jobs but it all goes a bit crazy when they try to make their job more fun.

They end up using the wheelie bins as props.

The bins turn into drums, cars, places to hide and launching pads for acrobatic stunts.

The music is great and covers lots of styles – past and present.

Parents and kids can sing along.

There is lots of audience interaction.

The cast comes down off the stage several times to bring the audience into the play.

Parents and kids are drawn into participating amidst lots of laughter.

Everything goes crazy when bags of plastic balls are thrown into the audience and everyone is encouraged to throw them back onto the stage.

Kids and balls go everywhere.

I would recommend this play for families who want to have a crazy time with lots of laughs, although kids older than 12 might not find it as much fun.
