Effortlessly melding stunning, recently written music with film and animation, When We Speak is an intimate recital performance which re-casts our ideas of beauty, gesture and expression through 21st century music-making.
At the centre of the show will be Katherine Philip, Principal cellist of Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, performing a solo recital.
Lisa Cheney’s, When We Speak comments on broader issues surrounding gender inequality. The atmospheric soundscape interweaves the composer’s own musical language, includes Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, as well as the live cellist’s expression and voice.
Suitable for ages 15+
